Associate Director, Occupational Health & Recovery
Clerk Grade 11/12, Ongoing and Temporary opportunity, Full-time 35 hours per week

4PSQ Parramatta or Gosford or Sydney Mckell location (travel required between these locations)
Salary Range: $139,787 - $161,663 p.a base salary + super
- Lead a team of specialists to implement comprehensive rehabilitation, action plans and improve organisational health and psychosocial performance across the organisation to ensure a safe working environment.
- Develop,
implement and maintain the Department’s recover at work and injury prevention frameworks to ensure a safe work environment and to meet legislative compliance obligations.
- Provide expert, strategic and operational advice and support to internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements.
About the Opportunity:
Due to innovation and growth in the People & Culture Division at the Department of Customer Service, we have an exciting new opportunity for an Associate Director, Occupational Health and Recovery to join our high-performing and progressive People Services team.
This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively within a centralised Centre of Expertise function, in which you will bring together multiple stakeholders across the Department and ensure that the Recover at Work framework is applicable to all agencies and work groups within the Department given various levels of knowledge and capability in the application of legislative requirements.
You will lead your team to identify trends and draw insights from a variety of data sources to build and strengthen knowledge and capability and implement proactive educational programs that empower business leaders to make informed management decisions effectively.
As part of the senior leadership team, you will work collaboratively with peers and embed modern and agile ways of working to deliver a world class people and culture function while role modelling our public sector values to ensure integrity, transparency, fairness, and impartiality.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will possess a great blend of skills, including:
- Engage, inspire, motivate and enable leaders and professional practitioners for a high performance culture
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable recover at work and injury prevention frameworks, with extensive knowledge of WHS and relevant NSW legislation
- Tertiary qualifications in one or more of the following fields: workplace health and safety, human resources, or in a related field and/or equivalent demonstrated experience
- A customer centric and growth mindset with strong decision-making skills as well as have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Resilience to adapt, thrive and lead through a growth mindset in an agile and transformational environment
- Exceptional relationship management and influencing skills at all levels
- Experience in project delivery to achieve business outcomes
- Experience with continuous improvement activities to delivery business outcomes
- Experience developing strategic policies,
procedures and frameworks relevant to ethical workplace practices and standards
