Senior Financial Accountant (240001BQ)About the roleAs a Senior Financial Accountant within the RACQ Group Finance team, you will assist in the processing of financial transactions and the maintenance of the general ledger to ensure that all RACQ entities can produce complete and accurate financial reporting to meet internal management and statutory reporting obligations.
We will trust you to:Lead the delivery of an accurate and efficient month-end closure involving journal preparation, review and posting and timely balance sheet reconciliations and analysis,





with the escalation of issues to management.Ensure that the financial transactions and records comply with Australian Accounting Standards and are fully reconciled with the general ledger, subledgers and integrated systems.Investigate complex accounting transactions and activities, and draft compelling accounting position papers for discussion and review, with reference to Australian Accounting Standards.Support the external audit process, including preparation of the Group's and subsidiary statutory financial statements and associated information.Effectively collaborate and communicate with various stakeholders throughout the organisation and with external auditors.Coach and mentor the financial/project accountants and assistant accountants.Please note that this is a 12-month fixed term contract.About youYou will hold an Accounting/Commerce degree and be a qualified Chartered Accountant/Certified Practising Accountant with experience in financial accounting and a proven track record of mentoring assistant and financial accountants.An excellent working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards,





with demonstrated experience in producing accounting position papers and advice on complex accounting matters.Effective communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills.High level of financial literacy and problem-solving skills.Advanced excel spreadsheet skills and the ability to accurately present financial reports from large volumes of financial information in a timely manner.Demonstrated experience in the use of an ERP system within a mid to large size business environment.Why join RACQ?It is an exciting time to be part of RACQ as we continue our transformation towards better, smarter solutions that deliver more security and prosperity for Queenslanders.
