About the Role
The Quality Engineering Manager, Technical Quality will be responsible for overseeing the non-functional testing strategy, ensuring that Nuix's software products meet the highest standards of performance, security, scalability, and usability. You will lead a team of quality engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that quality processes are effectively integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of non-functional quality engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability,
and continuous improvement.
Testing Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive non-functional testing strategy that aligns with product objectives and business goals.
Performance Testing:
Oversee the design, development, execution, and analysis of performance and load testing to ensure optimal application performance under various conditions.
Security Assessments:
Implement security testing processes to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Test Data Management Strategy:
Lead, develop and manage the Test Data Management function, which is an emerging capability, focusing on test data governance, quality and coverage to support functional and non-functional testing needs.
Continuous Delivery:
Work with engineering teams to integrate non-functional testing into continuous delivery practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with development, product management, and operations teams to integrate non-functional quality assurance practices into the development lifecycle.
Tool Management:
Evaluate, select, and implement testing tools and frameworks to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of non-functional testing processes.
Continuous Improvement:
Facilitate retrospectives and quality reviews to identify areas for process improvement, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Must-Have Qualifications: Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in quality engineering or software testing, covering both on-premise and SaaS products.
Leadership Skills:
Proven experience in managing and developing teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Experience working with off-shore teams (based in India) is a must.
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., Jmeter, Load Runner), experience with building and managing test environments through automation (e.g. Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible), Cloud technologies (preferably AWS) and security testing methodologies.
Analytical Mindset:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering quality products.
Desirable Qualifications: Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as ITSQB are advantageous.
Agile Experience:
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Dev Ops practices, including CI/CD workflows and tools.
Industry Exposure:
Experience in data management, cybersecurity, or related fields is a plus.
