Reporting to the Head of Sales, the purpose of the Business Development Manager is to participate in sales activities with a focus on identifying new opportunities, increasing revenue and building, long-term, trusting relationships in the Sydney market.
Ensure you understand your clients’ needs and provide them with solutions and costings that meet their needs.

Responsibilities
Overall, the key areas of responsibility include (but are not limited to) :
- Drive and manage sales opportunities for both Air & Sea freight.
- Develop strategies and activities to support both new & existing customer relationships.
- Research and identify sales pipelines and support campaigns across vertical markets, products, and trade lanes.
- Develop and maintain a fit for purpose pipeline of prospects that matches the company’s strategies.
Your Profile
To be considered for this role you will have / be :
- Previous experience in the Freight Forwarding industry is essential.
- Proven track record in customer retention and growth strategies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with customers to implement supply chain solutions.
- Strong business acumen and a focus on commercial outcomes to enhance team profitability.
- In-depth knowledge of global forwarding operations, markets, competitors, carriers and services.
- Effective task prioritisation and time management skills, particularly under pressure.
- Comprehensive understanding of freight, customs procedures, geography,
and trade lanes.
- Detailed knowledge of trade practices in major trading partners within Asia Pacific, Europe and USA.
- Enthusiasm for achieving goals and targets.
What's on offer?
Our client is seeking their next business development superstar. In return, you can expect a base salary of $125,000 -$135,000 + super + $15,000 car allowance + commission and flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to develop your skills and grow your career.
