The Role
We are searching for a highly competent teacher to join our dynamic and collaborative team, add to the culture of the school as a learning community and contribute to student and staff development in Auslan.
The successful applicant should welcome ongoing professional learning and instructional coaching to ensure the success of all through a focus on life-long learning. Teachers at Kewdale (PS) personal excellence, respect diversity, and promote an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment. To build a connected community at Kewdale PS,
teachers prioritise connection and communication with families as partners in their child’s learning.
As a teacher in our school, you should have a passion for quality teaching and learning and a commitment to implementing whole school effective instructional practices. The ability to incorporate digital technologies to engage students and support learning is desirable.
As the goal of the program is for these students to access learning by integrating into the mainstream classes, teachers at Kewdale PS require strong classroom management skills, and should have the ability to build positive relationships and to match this with clearly articulated, high expectations, along with the capacity to create consistent routines and classroom structures.
In addition, experience and an interest in teaching students who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder is desirable.
