Job Description
Location: Sydney, NSW
Salary Package: $130-140,000 + super
Role Highlights:
Take on a pivotal role in a small team driving cloud migration and data automation initiatives. You’ll be instrumental in transitioning data platforms to the cloud while helping to drive efficiency and innovation. Role Overview:
For the first 12 months, the focus will be on delivering critical data engineering solutions, especially as the transition to the cloud goes live . You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and contribute to architectural strategies, leveraging your expertise in the Azure data stack.
Following this period, the role will shift towards utilising data modelling and analytics skills more intensively. The successful candidate will be part of a close-knit team of 4 and must bring a self-starter mentality to get things done efficiently and autonomously. You will also actively contribute to cloud infrastructure planning, automation processes, and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable data solutions using the Azure data stack.
- Write and deploy ETL processes across multiple data sources.
- Lead the cloud migration of our data platforms and support the ongoing infrastructure needs.
- Ensure compliance with architectural, privacy, and regulatory standards.
- Drive automation and orchestration solutions across data platforms.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and influence technical strategy.
- Build, manage, and support different environments through DevOps practices.
- Maintain documentation for the platform and data solutions.
- Actively improve the efficiency, scalability, and performance of our systems.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to translate analytics requirements into technical solutions.
Candidate Profile:
A highly motivated and results-oriented data engineer with strong experience in the Azure data stack, including hands-on work with ADL, ADF, Synapse and Azure DevOps. An experienced background in data engineering, cloud data infrastructure, and automation allows you to contribute effectively to both project-based and operational tasks. As a self-starting problem-solver, constantly learning and evolving your skill set, and with an enjoyment from working in a low-politics, fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude are key to your success in this role.
