Manager, Event Investment – Culture, Entertainment and Creative Industries

About the role
As the Manager, Event Investment - Culture, Entertainment & Creative Industries, you will play a pivotal role in driving Sydney and NSW's reputation as the events capital of the Asia Pacific. Reporting to the Associate Director, this dynamic role focuses on managing strategic event investments and opportunities that drive economic and social benefits for NSW.
You will work with the Associate Director on identifying and developing new event investment and acquisition opportunities within the cultural, entertainment, and creative sectors and reviewing and evaluating event proposals. The role also involves preparing high-quality submissions, briefs and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

About You
You possess appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant professional experience in the events, entertainment and performing arts industry. You have the demonstrated ability to assess the social, economic, and strategic benefits of events and have a proven flair for leveraging events to maximise marketing, branding, and publicity outcomes. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the capacity to build strong relationships and strategic partnerships.
Experience in business reporting, project management,
and working with stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes is also key. Public sector experience and knowledge of government roles in event acquisition are highly regarded. Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel, is also required.
