The Team
Event Recruitment and Management (ERaM) sit within the Event Workforce team in National Office. Each ERaM team is located in their respective State and Territory Office and work closely with the AEC’s operational network in their jurisdiction. ERaM are responsible for the coordination, oversight, assurance and reporting on the temporary election workforce to ensure there is an adequate workforce to support election delivery in their jurisdiction.
Event Recruitment and Management will implement a nationally consistent temporary workforce attraction model locally and will utilise peer network capabilities to collaborate, provide support and create efficiencies. ERaM is committed to improving our procedures and processes, while maturing and professionalising our temporary election workforce.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Workforce Project Manager,
the Workforce Coordinator provides support in the day-to-day oversight and assurance of the delivery of AEC’s temporary election workforce in their state or territory. This includes assisting with attraction and recruitment of election staff in difficult-to-recruit locations.
Workforce Project Coordinators will use their people skills and project or event support experience, to assist in coordinating and supporting temporary election workforce activities within their state/territory, and assist with monitoring timelines and key deliverables. They will assist in developing and analysing reports and information to monitor and manage the sourcing and onboarding of the election workforce.
Workforce Project Coordinators will be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, and be able to work independently under limited guidance.
They will perform additional duties and functions across the ERaM team or agency, as required.
To excel you’ll have:
- Experience in delivering or supporting projects within tight timeframes, in a highly operational and legislated environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to develop and support internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, with the ability (or aptitude) to analyse reports and data and use sound judgement to make evidence-based decisions.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse data and generate comprehensive reports.
- Resilience and agility to manage competing priorities and changing requirements,
and ability to anticipate challenges and, with support, contribute to the effective design and implementation of issues.
- Proven ability to provide accurate advice, in line with relevant policies and legislation.
- Demonstrated personal integrity, with dedication to achieving high quality results whilst working as part of a team towards a common goal.
- Relevant experience or qualifications in project management, event coordination, public administration or a similar field is desirable.
