POSITIONThe School of Nursing and Midwifery located on the Darlinghurst Sydney Campus seeks expressions of interest from registered nurses to support the clinical education of Undergraduate student nurses on professional practice placement within the Bachelor of Nursing program (SYD campus).
The Clinical Facilitator will be responsible for undergraduate 1st, 2nd and 3rd year nursing students completing the professional practice units of study in a variety of healthcare settings, in various wards and specialties.
Key ResponsibilitiesWelcoming and orientating the students to the specified facilityActing as a professional role modelOpportunistic student learning and clinical teaching, linking theory to practice whilst in the clinical settingIdentifying learning needs and promoting skill developmentFormal written evaluations and assessments of clinical skills as provided by the UniversityProviding feedback to students and the University through open communicationAvailable on a fulltime rotational roster throughout each professional practice cycle.
Monday to FridayContactable by mobile phone and emailABOUT YOUCurrent registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA with no notations and/or restrictionsMinimum of five (5) years post-registration experience in a clinical settingPost graduate qualifications in an area of specialtyExperience and involvement in the preceptorship/mentorship and supervision of nursing students/junior staff within a clinical setting.Desirable Criteria:Previous experience in facilitating and assessment of Undergraduate Nursing students in the clinical settingPost graduate qualifications in clinical educationExcellent time management skills and ability to work autonomously when required.Committed work ethicComputer literacyDemonstrated effective interpersonal skills,
