About the Role
The Head of Credit Trading, Australia is a key member of the Rates & Credit Leadership Team, which is pivotal in driving the successful implementation of the Markets strategy for the Australian Credit Trading Business.
It is accountable for the success of the Australian Credit Trading business across its multiple product offerings.
This role involves close collaboration with the Head of Credit Trading. Under their leadership, the role will help drive local Total Revenue and the Markets strategy for the Australian Credit Trading business, ensuring alignment with the divisional strategy.
Additionally, this role provides global leadership, management, strategic direction, and financial oversight for all facets of ANZ’s Credit Business in Australia. This contribution is essential for building a strong and sustainable ANZ Markets business with well-managed growth in revenue and return on equity.

What will your day look like?
1.
Collaborate with the Head of Credit Trading, and other global leadership members within the Rates & Credit Trading team to align market-making and risk appetite with client-focused activities, emphasizing local market competition, strategic market share, and positioning.
2. Align customer segments with growth objectives across the business and division, focusing on returns and identifying areas for competitive advantage, while developing distribution channels to optimize future state.
3. Foster effective collaboration across Capital Markets, Sales teams, and other Markets stakeholders, as well as Institutional stakeholders.
4. Define key products, systems, and risk limits required to achieve business objectives for the Credit Trading business in Australia.
5.
Drive capability-led growth by building and developing talent to ensure a balance of customer facilitation and strong risk management, nurturing a diverse, digitally enabled workforce with a focus on customer franchise.
6. Provide strategic insight, senior engagement, and leadership support globally to ensure a well-managed business for the Credit Trading business in Australia.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and experience:
1. Extensive experience in a global Markets business leadership role in a large, complex, multi-geographical financial services organisation.
2.
Strong Markets background and business leadership across Credit products in Australia and extensive knowledge of the relevant Australia Credit markets.
3. Extensive knowledge of regulatory framework and requirements in for Credit business in Australia.
4. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, dealing with internal and external clients, and negotiating with clients and stakeholders at all seniority levels. Strong customer focus and ability to drive results.
5. Experience managing and motivating large diverse teams and leading through ambiguity and in a high-pressure market environment.
6. A reputation for sound risk management, works effectively with risk management, compliance, and technology teams to manage a “well-run”, end-to-end business.
7. Successfully built a network of strong relationships across Capital Markets, Credit Sales team.

Strong leadership is essential to maintain our top rankings in both domestic markets with prior experience of leading diverse team is required.
9. Technology savvy, with knowledge and experience in how technology can help grow the Australia credit business through electronification.
