Perpetual Group is an ASX-listed company (ASX:PPT) headquartered in Sydney, Australia, currently consisting of 11 leading brands across three distinct businesses: Asset Management, Wealth Management, and Corporate Trust.
Following the completion of a comprehensive Strategic Review in May 2024, it was announced that Perpetual Limited will become a standalone Asset Management business and has entered into an agreement with an affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR)
who will acquire the Corporate Trust and Wealth Management businesses.
The wealth management business consists of three distinct brands in addition to Perpetual Private - Fordham, Jacaranda financial planning, and Priority Life - offering a unique mix of wealth management, advice, and trustee services. With a diverse range of capabilities including strategic advice on superannuation and retirement planning, general investment, asset protection, insurance, tax management, estate planning, aged care, social security, succession planning, and philanthropy. Our clients include individuals, families, businesses, not-for-profit organisations, and Indigenous communities throughout Australia.

About the role
Join our dynamic team at Wealth Management! As a Head of Legal, you will:
- Provide Legal Advisory; provide expert and strategic legal advice to the CEO, senior management, and the Board of Directors.
- Manage Legal Risk; identify, assess,
and manage legal risks affecting the company.
- Enterprise Leadership; lead and manage the Legal and Company Secretariat team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
About you
We're looking for someone with:
- A degree in Law and current NSW practicing certificate or admission to practice as a solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction.
- 15+ years of experience as a senior lawyer, preferably with considerable experience leading a team.
- Extensive experience providing advice in relation to financial services law.
- Proven track record in managing corporate governance and company secretarial functions (desirable).
- Experience negotiating general commercial agreements including custody administration and investment management agreements.
- Experience in handling complex legal matters and providing strategic legal advice.
- Strong knowledge of corporate and commercial law, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
