We are currently accepting applications from teachers who are citizens of: United KingdomRepublic of IrelandSouth AfricaCanada Teaching in Western Australian public schools comes with great benefits.
You can expect:





a great salary – and we will consider your international teaching experience when determining your commencement salaryfully funded relocation support for you and your family (for permanent positions or contracts 12 months or more).
This includes airfares and travel, and relocating your furniture and effectsfully funded accommodation support for up to 8 weeks - depending on the location of your appointmentaccess to heavily subsidised accommodation for you and your family, in most regional locationsadditional financial incentives in some locations (up to $13,730 pa)if relocating to Western Australia, reimbursement of essential household items of up to $10,000 (subject to approval)a robust induction program A number of our schools are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive in 2024, of up to $17,000 pa. using our benefits calculator .EligibilityTo teach in a Western Australian public school, you must have a recognised, completed initial teacher education qualification.
This may be a completed Bachelor of Education, or equivalent, or an undergraduate degree and a post-graduate teaching qualification.
Please note that the Department does not recognise the Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) certification where it is not held in conjunction with a suitable Initial Teacher Education qualification, awarded by a recognised university.To be eligible to teach in Western Australian public schools, you must hold both a satisfactory , and a .

Please note, to be eligible for registration you will need to demonstrate that you meet qualification, English language and fit and proper requirements.
If you did not complete your teaching qualification in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, the Republic of Ireland or the United States of America, you will be required to demonstrate your English language skills, through an .
Evidence of this is an eligibility requirement prior to submitting an application.
The scores required are an average of level 7.5 or more across the 4 components of listening, speaking,

Please make note in your application if you do not require visa sponsorship.The Department of Education can provide visa sponsorship through an employer sponsored visa.
An example of this is for appointment for up to 4 years on a Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (482) for Early Childhood, Education Support and Secondary teachers, and 2 years for Primary teachers.
