Full-time leadership opportunity up to 30th Jun 2026 (temporary) with possibility for extension or conversion to ongoing, 35 hrs/week Office based in Parramatta; flexible working supported Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $142,529 to $156,425 super and annual leave loading (Environment Officer Class 12) About the role The Grants Branch within Office of the Secretary group has a unique opportunity for a Manager Contestable Grants to lead as a team and contribute to a centre of expertise utilising best practice in grants management to design,
deliver and administer funding programs on behalf of DCCEEW and the NSW Environmental Trust. This role will specifically lead the implementation of various NSW and Federal Flood management grant programs that provide technical and financial support to local councils and eligible land managers to help them manage flood risk in their communities. As Manager Contestable Grants you will lead and manage the administration and governance of contestable grant programs including developing and implementing procedures for the evaluation and selection of projects for funding, ensuring delivery of funded projects and monitoring and reporting on the performance of the programs. About you You are a people leader who enjoys problem solving. Your understanding of the complexities issues in a strategic and operational context and developing innovative solutions will be key to your success in this role. You'll be a strong decision-maker with the ability to lead a team in the provision of grant management, including business planning, assessment of grant applications and funds management,
implementing appropriate probity, governance and risk frameworks, developing performance indicators, and reporting systems. You will conduct research and analysis to support evidence based decision making to address complex issues in a changing environment which will enable you to thrive and succeed in this diverse and dynamic role. Essential requirements Sound experience in leading a team in the administration, management of complex and significant grant schemes or related programs including establishing governance systems, budget and performance management. Experience in issues management and strategic planning including a demonstrated track record of delivering outcomes. Demonstrated experience in developing,
implementing and monitoring operational plans with a demonstrated track record in providing direction and gaining cooperation of a multidisciplinary geographically dispersed group of staff in a service environment.
