Where you'll be working Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital is a major metropolitan teaching hospital. Patients can access a range of services including coronary care, intensive care, orthopaedics, general medicine, surgical, obstetric, respiratory, rehabilitation, paediatric, maternity and emergency care. The hospital also provides a wide range of outpatient services including allied health, dental and podiatry clinics, child, adolescent and family health, drug and alcohol, health promotion and rehabilitation and aged care. An acute mental health service is co-located at Hornsby Hospital. The new $265 million Stage 2 redevelopment was officially opened in June 2022. For more information https://www.nslhd.health.nsw.gov.au/Hornsby/Pages/default.aspx What you'll be doing The primary purpose of the Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) in the Emergency Department is to provide clinical care, under appropriate supervision, to patients requiring emergency medical services in a complex clinical environment.
This position will provide experience in a critical care environment and have responsibilities and opportunities for autonomous practice commensurate with the level of experience of the incumbent. Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment Adept ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team. Adept written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and others members of the health care team. Adept good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management. Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
