Where you'll be working The unit comprises of three clinical areas; a holding bay for elective admissions, a post-operative bay for surgical day procedures and an overnight 23 hour ward. SSSU staff alternate between these three areas.
SSSU is a well-functioning model covering an array of surgical specialties. With the support of a senior workforce, the NUM and CNE to fully assist your transition, you will have room to grow through the numerous learning opportunities provided. What you'll be doing The purpose of this role is to provide safe and effective nursing care to patients using an individualised holistic approach related to the goals of care determined by the Primary Nurse (Registered Nurse) and within professional role limits and Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice. In the delivery of nursing care the Enrolled Nurse will work under both the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.
The Enrolled Nurse will consult with the registered nurse to ensure delegation is commensurate with own level of competence and within Local Health District (LHD) and Service policy, particularly in relation to the administration of medications. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply. Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse. Post registration experience in an acute hospital setting. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
