Your Role and Experience As a Registered Nurse (RN) at the Forensic Hospital, you are responsible for providing the day-to-day mental health and physical health care requirements of patients. This must be in line with the principles of recovery and forensic mental health rehabilitation. The RN must integrate therapeutic goals with security requirements through constant appraisal of organisational processes and nurse-patient relationships to ensure that opportunities for therapeutic endeavour are maximised. All staff have a responsibility to maintain the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors within the high secure environment. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: · Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
· A minimum of Registered Nurse Year 2: one-year of full-time experience OR equivalent hours as a Registered Nurse who has either completed a Mental Health Transition Program and/or has demonstrated mental health nursing experience in Australia or an equivalent health system. Our Location, Team, and Service The Forensic Hospital is a high-secure forensic mental health facility in New South Wales, operated by Justice Health NSW. This facility provides specialist, therapeutic inpatient care for adults and adolescent forensic, correctional, and high-risk civil patients. A multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals provide care across the clinical spectrum, from high dependency and acute care, to long stay and rehabilitation care.
