Senior Policy Officer Location – Parramatta Employment type – 2x Ongoing Grade – Clerk Grade 9/10 Salary – $120,589-$133,183pa plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role The Senior Policy Officer position sits within the Community and Policy Division. The Multicultural NSW Policy Team is focused on pursuing meaningful policy and project work to benefit the lives of multicultural communities in NSW. You will be joining a Policy Team which is committed to creating policy and driving projects that has our multicultural communities of NSW at the centre of everything we do.

You will be supporting the Associate Director – Policy to develop, manage, deliver and evaluate a range of policies and initiatives. Key Accountabilities: Review Cabinet proposals, project submissions or proposed initiatives including facilitating consultation with relevant stakeholders, to develop recommendations in relation to the soundness and feasibility of the proposals, projects, or initiatives. Assume senior responsibility within the team on initiatives to support the Agency’s strategic goals. Critically analyse and prepare high quality analysis in various forms on complex social policy and language policy issues, undertake consultations and negotiations to develop proposals and approaches, and prepare advice for the CEO. Undertake research into current and emerging issues and trends to ensure policy,
service delivery reform or major initiatives development and advice is responsive to current environment and contextual factors. Represent the Agency’s position at Commonwealth and State levels with government departments, nongovernment organisations, industry, and the community and convene and as required, lead working parties and advisory committees. What we’re looking for Exceptional level of written and verbal communication. Demonstrated success in leading service delivery reforms, strategic initiatives, or complex projects, preferably in partnership with diverse, cross-sectoral stakeholders. Demonstrated success in undertaking all aspects of the policy process – research, development, implementation review and evaluation. Agile, resilient, and committed to innovation and new approaches. Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent,
