NSW Department of Education is seeking a talented professional to lead the Portfolio Services - governance, assurance and reporting team covering all IT initiatives within the department. This is an opportunity to work within a recently re-moulded Planning, Performance and Delivery function to provide effective oversight of the technology project portfolio ensuring meaningful, quality outcomes are delivered to NSW public schools, learning centres and support services. This is an exciting time to join the team and shape the future of IT portfolio management within the Operations Division. About the role The Manager, Quality & Assurance oversees portfolio and project assurance, governance, and reporting for IT projects within the IT Directorate’s Portfolio Services team. This role ensures clear and thorough compliance within established delivery standards and frameworks. You will directly lead a small team and influence the broader project community to ensure technology programs are consistently delivered to a high standard, influencing quality outcomes.

About you We are seeking a dynamic candidate who embodies strategic thinking and a results-driven approach, with a strong foundation in governance frameworks and project management best practices. The successful individual will engage collaboratively with a diverse array of staff and key stakeholders to assess portfolio, program, and project outcomes, ensuring the effective achievement of all project delivery milestones. You will play a vital role in fostering and maintaining robust relationships with project teams and executive sponsors, effectively communicating project updates and requirements to ensure alignment and satisfaction.





Your ability to navigate complex interactions while maintaining a high level of accuracy will be essential in driving successful project outcomes. Highly organised and can manage high volume, complex changing priorities. Strong management communication and collaboration skills to work cohesively with stakeholders to deliver results. Ability to work with a team autonomously. Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Essential requirements of the role Relevant tertiary qualification in business, IT or related discipline. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education .
