The Health Promotion Team at SWSLHD is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Health Promotion Officer to plan and implement healthy eating and active living initiatives for children aged 6 -16 years and their families, including the delivery of Healthy Children Initiative Programs at schools in South West Sydney. We are looking for someone who is engaging, driven and has a passion for improving health and wellbeing for children and families to bring fresh ideas and build strong relationships and partnerships for program implementation. If you are ready to bring your theoretical knowledge and practical skills in Health Promotion to SWSLHD and start your exciting career, click APPLY NOW What You'll be Doing The purpose of this position is to improve the health of people living in south western Sydney by contributing to Health Promotion programs of work in line with South Western Sydney Local Health District and the Ministry of Health’s goals, principles, and strategies. The Health Promotion Officer will primarily work in the Early Years & Ageing stream and contribute to evidence based and/or innovative programs of work for population health priorities. The Health Promotion Officer may also work on projects from the Health & Wellbeing stream as required. The HEO will primarily be responsible for working with the team to: deliver all stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, reporting and sustainability of programs promoting healthy eating and active living of children 6 years to 16 years and their families/carers implement the school years Healthy Children Initiative programs e.g., Live Life Well School across SWSLHD to meet Ministry of Health performance indictors with local level tailoring and adaptation as needed.

Tertiary qualifications in health or related field Demonstrated knowledge and experience in health promotion planning, implementation, evaluation and dissemination particularly relating to healthy eating and active living of children 6 years to 16 years and their families/carers Knowledge and experience working with one of the Healthy Children Initiative school settings i.e. schools or out of school hours services Demonstrated knowledge and experience of current health promotion theory and evidence-based practice. Understanding of issues that may impact service delivery in priority populations including social disadvantage,





Aboriginal and CALD communities. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain partnerships with other staff and government, non-government and community organisations. Effective organisational, problem solving and team skills including the ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, including skills in use of common computer packages preferably Microsoft Office, MS Outlook, social media and some desktop publishing skills. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
