Join us to make a difference for all students in NSW Position details Senior Education Officer Grade 1 1 x Ongoing role and 1 x Temporary opportunity (up to 12 months with potential of extension) Close to Wynyard station & hybrid work arrangements available About the role Join our collaborative team as a Senior Education Officer (Policy Officer) in the Teaching Standards and Accreditation directorate, where you will develop, implement, support and evaluate processes to enhance teacher accreditation against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. In this key role, you will support all levels of accreditation, ensuring the validity, reliability, and consistency of decisions.
You will be responsible for delivering outcomes within established timeframes, managing competing high priority demands, and producing high-quality presentations, correspondence, submissions, and briefings, often under tight timeframes. On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for: Supporting teachers, including early childhood educators, in achieving and maintaining accreditation at all career stages. Developing and delivering presentations to enhance understanding of accreditation processes for teachers and stakeholders. Independently and collaboratively contributing to policies that ensure valid and reliable teaching assessments. Using research to create materials that ensure consistent and equitable accreditation in schools. Providing timely, relevant advice along with innovative solutions to challenges through creative thinking and a strong understanding of teaching contexts. Analysing feedback and conducting research to inform directorate initiatives. Our ideal candidate will have:
Appropriate tertiary education qualifications and accreditation at Proficient Teacher or above Knowledge of issues pertaining to the accreditation of teachers in NSW including emerging trends in state and national policy.
