Join us to make a difference for all students in NSW Position details Chief Education Officer, Grade 1 Temporary full-time opportunity for up to 3 years Close to Wynyard station & hybrid work arrangements available About the role The Inspector, Home Schooling Unit, Regulation of Schooling provides leadership in the planning and implementation of NESA’s regulatory program for home schooling registration. The role is located within the directorate that is also responsible for NESA’s regulatory programs for non-government schools, the government schooling system and providers of courses for students from overseas. The role acts in accordance with relevant legislation and government,
NESA and Executive objectives within a context of strategic consultation with key stakeholders. On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for: reviewing and analysing applications for home schooling registration, including problem solving and resolving issues that arise contributing to the development and provision of support and training for NESA’s Authorised Persons to assist them to efficiently and effectively undertake their home schooling regulatory functions reviewing, analysing and assessing documentation related to compliance using a risk management approach making judgements about compliance and recommendations for registration in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures contributing to the other regulatory programs conducted by the Directorate as requested, investigate concerns relating to compliance and prepare reports with recommendations in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures preparing reports, briefings,
data and correspondence in relation to the regulatory programs identified above providing high level leadership, advice and expertise in developing effective policies, procedures, data management, record keeping and resources associated with the administration of the regulatory programs identified above Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in the education sector, with experience particularly in leadership and curriculum related roles. You are a strong communicator with experience in stakeholder engagement in a politically sensitive environment. With a knack for operating in environments of ambiguity, you excel in picking up projects that are already underway. Essential requirements tertiary teaching qualifications comprehensive knowledge and understanding of current and emerging education legislation, policies,
