Principal Policy Officer, Palliative Care An exciting opportunity is available for a dynamic individual to join the Ministry of Health in a key strategic role to lead on a range of priority issues and programs relating to palliative care and end of life care Ongoing role About this role The Principal Policy Officer, Palliative Care provides professional and organisational leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic policy frameworks and responses which enable the achievement of the Department's/agency's planned outcomes, and alignment with broader Government objectives.
The role of the Principal Policy Officer is to lead and manage the development and evaluation of strategic policies and projects relating to palliative care and end of life care, and other community-based services and policy areas, with a particular focus on achieving more integrated care for the NSW population. The Principal Policy Officer provides strategic advice to Director, Community Care and Priority Populations regarding current, evolving or emerging policy issues to facilitate executive decision-making and ensures effective planning and program management to deliver against objectives and timeframes, leading a team of policy professionals and drawing on effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Essential Requirements The successful candidate will have: Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
