to deliver a completely NEW way of providing care in our community. Does This sound like you? Ability to utilise personal lived experience of mental health recovery to provide peer support? Gets excited about a role that uses your experience to give others hope to also recover from their suicidal crisis? Happy to work penalty rate Saturday, Sunday and evening shifts (typically 11:30am – 8pm, Fri - Mon)? The Community Mental Health Service is seeking a passionate Peer Support Worker who is naturally compassionate and empathetic. This role will se you working in a Trauma-Informed, Recovery Oriented, Strengths-Based way while getting involved in research and evaluation opportunities to inform how this service develops over the coming decades. evidence based peer support interventions to mental health consumers within a multidisciplinary team framework. This position also supports clinical staff in the provision of recovery orientated and consumer driven clinical practice by providing consultation in relation to the experience of living with a mental health disorder. The Peer Worker is also responsible for undertaking designated administrative tasks necessary to support service delivery. Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer work or willingness to work towards completing and Recognized Degree or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer. Lived experience of a mental health problem or disorder and willingness to share as part of your work.





Demonstrated knowledge of consumer led recovery and recovery principles Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of people Evidence of knowledge and commitment to the application of quality improvement frameworks and evidence based practice Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education Experience in planning, delivering and evaluating group and individual interventions Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included)
