We are seeking to establish a pool of Speech and Language Officer for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2025.
Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.Find out more about our school by visiting or The RoleWest Coast Language Development Centre (LDC) is a specialist school that caters for students with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).
Suitable applicants will possess extensive knowledge in planning for the speech and language needs of students with DLD to support class and whole of school language initiatives.
Suitable applicants need to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as have highly developed ability to work independently.
Graduates are encouraged to apply.The Speech and Language Officer develops and supports the implementation of specialised language programs in classes for students with identified speech and language difficulties/impairments.
A key aspect of the role is building the capacity of teachers and other staff members to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to maximise language learning outcomes for students.
The centre is highly innovative and utilises and drives research into what works best for students with DLD.
Staff are highly collaborative with many involved in the development of innovative programs.Speech and Language Officers will work as part of the early intensive student program, which caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 2.
The centre is situated across four sites in Padbury, Hamersley, Heathridge and Quinns Rocks.
