Major Accountabilities/Principal Responsibilities:
We are currently recruiting a FIC Corporate salesperson in Sydney, Australia. This is an exciting opportunity within a fast-paced, results focused, global organization that values diversity. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the build out of the Fixed Income and Currencies Corporate business in Australia. They will have the opportunity to build close relationships with the teams onshore and within the organization more broadly on a regional and global basis.
The Fixed Income & Currencies team is a part of the Global Markets division. The team services the real economy and aim to build together with our clients,
a better and sustainable future through responsible and innovative hedging, across FX, rates and investment solutions, leveraging on Societe Generale’s expertise in both the developed and emerging markets. The team works internationally with teams based in Singapore, HK, mainland China, South Korea, Japan and India.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing FX and Interest rate risk management solutions to corporate clients in Australia, including Investment solutions where relevant. Our clients include local Australian corporates as well as MNCs with regional Treasury or subsidiary presence in Australia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Growing the FIC Corporate flow business with Australian Corporates and developing business opportunities (both public and private deals)
- Originating business opportunities with existing and new clients and providing advisory on risk management and building deal pipelines in collaboration with the Global Markets teams (widening of product scope, increase in volumes,
market share and/or markup with existing client base, and onboarding of new clients)
- Strong pricing and execution abilities in FX and Interest rates derivatives, as well as structured investment solutions
- Preparing pitchbooks, market comments, term sheets and other marketing materials
- Driving sales initiatives and maintaining awareness of SG’s FX & Rates strengths and offerings
- Working in close partnership with the broader FIC desk in Sydney in building out the franchise
- Working collaboratively with other salespersons in the region and globally as well as other departments and partners (notably Coverage/Relationship Managers, DCM, Trading, Engineering, Credit, Support functions, etc...)
- Maintaining strong connectivity with the market,
understanding the needs of the different corporate clients and industry groups, leveraging on market intelligence to provide feedback internally (sales, engineering, structuring, trading) to improve capabilities of the platform.
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Required:
- Bachelor’s or master's Degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Engineering
- At least 6-8 years of relevant financial markets experience in Sales or Global Markets
- Proven capabilities in building strong relationships with the Australian Corporate clients. Strong understanding of the corporate business and the key decision drivers. Ability to extract value from these relationships in terms of deals and market share
- Strong technical knowledge on Fixed Income and Currencies products, particularly IRS/XCCY/FX/ FXO/ Structured Investment solutions, for both flow business and private deal executions (Bond issuance related)
- Good knowledge on the usage of dealing platforms for credit FX and FI
- Strong ability in Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
