The role
The Personnel Security Analyst will assist and oversee personnel security and staff vetting processes across APRA. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Security, the role is a primary contact for personnel security matters across the organisation.
The team
The role sits within the Enterprise Security team which is part of the broader Technology and Data Division. The Technology and Data Division supports APRA with frameworks, technology and systems that support APRA’s data and technology operations and its mandate to help protect Australian community through data enabled decision making.
Key internal stakeholders include all staff undergoing security clearances,
as well as People & Culture and IT teams for onboarding of new staff. Key external stakeholders include the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
Key responsibilities
The Personal Security Analyst role assists the Head of Enterprise Security as a security Analyst by
- Identifying and managing personnel security risks;
- Coordinating personnel security assessments;
- Contributing to procedures for eligibility, suitability, maintenance and offboarding of personnel;
- Monitoring ongoing assessment of personnel, specifically the AGSVA security vetting process;
- Coordinating the personnel security aftercare program for separation of personnel, including withdrawing accesses and information about ongoing security obligations;
- Providing advice on personnel security, including the drafting of awareness materials and delivery of briefings to personnel located or travelling overseas; and
- Other duties as required.
About you
- Experience in personnel security and security clearance and vetting processes;
- Knowledge and understanding of the AGSVA process and systems;
- Knowledge & understanding of PSPF requirements; and
- Strong communication and relationship building skills, with ability to engage staff at all levels across APRA.
