Business Analyst
As a business analyst with HDI you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders (underwriting, claims, market management) and the technical development teams. This means you will:
- Collaborate with Data Analyst to analyse and transform data extracts, to provide meaningful insights to support decision-making within the business.
- Collaborate with underwriting and market management to meet day-to-day analytics requirements for head office reports, portfolio management, strategic objectives, broker management and client reporting.
- Collaborate with operations to monitor data quality and protect data integrity aligning with company-wide data governance principles.
- Ensuring all front-end inputs (such as Excel workbooks,
local tariffs, CRM systems, UW registers) are user friendly and free from bugs or errors.
- Work with Head of Operations to source business requirements, continuously improve processes and increase efficiencies within the business.
This a permanent, full-time role based in our modern Sydney CBD (Martin Place) Head office.
Duties will include (but not limited to)
- Develop and maintain consistent Excel workbooks as the crucial document between underwriting and policy operations including development of document generation features.
- In collaboration with Finance, combine and utilize data extracts from Data Analyst for use within Power BI reporting.
- Ensure seamless user experience by developing front-end Power BI dashboards and reports whilst maintaining data consistency between the various sources.
- Work with Head of Operations to continuously improve CRM system with new business requirements and implement new functionalities.
Skills and Experience
- Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with VBA, Power Query, and Power BI incl. DAX
- Ideally some coding experience with R, Python or SQL.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with ability to prioritise the requirements of stakeholders across departments to meet various deadlines.
- High attention to detail and ability to present information in a visually appealing, concise, and meaningful way for different audiences.
- Understanding of data warehouse and BI (Business intelligence) concepts.
Desirable
Previous work in Insurance or Financial Services industry.
