We're on the hunt for a trend-savvy, experienced Category Buyer to join our Own Brand team on a 6 Month Max Term Contract and make waves in our Own Brand categories!

About the role:
Lead the strategic procurement and development of Own Brand products, ensuring alignment with THE ICONIC’s goals, customer needs, and market trends under the guidance of a Senior Buyer and/or Buying Manager.
Trade Analysis and Strategy Development
- Conduct comprehensive weekly trade analysis with a focus on actions encompassing sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
- Develop strategic insights and actionable plans to optimise departmental performance, including NMV, profitability, and stock cover.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align trade strategies with seasonal and long-term objectives, ensuring agile responses to market dynamics whilst achieving budgeted sales plansProvides quarterly SWOT analysis with actions and recommendations
Range Planning and Product Development:
- Plans a balanced range including assortment selection and option planning across Core & Newness
- Works closely with design team to align on market trends and customer preferences Forecast demand accurately alongside the planning team and develop replenishment strategies to optimise inventory levels and meet sales targets.
Supplier Management and Negotiation:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, fostering collaboration and driving mutual success.
- Negotiate terms and costs with vendors to ensure competitive pricing, product quality, and adherence to sustainability goals.
- Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement or optimisation across the supply chain.
Marketing and Creative Alignment:
- Work closely with marketing and creative teams to align brand and product assortment with brand messaging and promotional strategies.
- Provide input on marketing campaigns and creative executions to maximise product visibility and sales impact.
- Maintain brand and customer persona information
Team Leadership and Development:
- Provide effective leadership to direct reports, setting clear expectations, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support the professional development of team members through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and communication to ensure alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
- Lead brand and/or category strategy,
vision and budget in conjunction with Senior Buyers, Planners & Buying Manager
- Work closely with the Planning team to trade sales and drive performance metrics, manage brand/department OTB and maintain accurate range plan.
- Assist Buying Manager in planning and execution for seasonal ‘Go to Market’ campaigns.
- Manages and meets the critical path timeline for their brand and/or category
