The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Midwife and to join our team on a full-time/part time basis. We are looking for an expert midwife, who is committed to excellence, has extensive skills in post-partum care as well as a passion for delivery of woman centered care.
To succeed in the role as a Registered Midwife, you will need to bring a genuine interest in caring for women and their family through the various stages of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care. You will be an experienced midwife with excellent communication skills and enjoy working in an inclusive and vibrant environment that values and supports our diverse families.
The Department
Our Women’s Health Unit is a 43 bed post/antenatal/gynecology ward with 7 birthing suite rooms.
Supporting this service is a 7 bed level 2 Special Care Nursery.
Essential qualities:
· Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
· Minimum of three years’ relevant post registration qualifications
· Demonstrated experience working in the provision of antenatal and post-natal midwifery services.
· Demonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiative using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive team.
· Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient centred care;
· Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;
· Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills;
· Flexibility to a seven-day roster including night duty;
Desirable qualities:
· IBCLC (lactation) certificate or working towards.

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF - NSW Nurses and Midwives' - Enterprise Agreement 2020- 2024, a salary ranging from $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
