About the role
Melbourne Health & Care Services is seeking a number of experienced, enthusiastic and reliable qualified Support workers to join their team as a Disability Support Care Worker.
As a support worker in our team, you will be responsible for supporting individuals with daily living skills, assisting with social and recreational activities, implementing and monitoring practices that will promote a healthier lifestyle, empowering participants to help them achieve their goals. The role will involve working with participants with both low and complex needs, some may need assistance with medication prompts and others may show complex behaviours. Experience and professionalism are highly recommended.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Meet at clients home and go to local park, to assist client to engage in exercise
- Tuesday for 2 hours – mid-day/early afternoon
- Friday for 2 hours – mid-day/early afternoon
· Build rapport and collaborate effectively with participants to achieve a positive outcome and ensure a smooth flow of service delivery throughout the course of the participants plan.
· You must be caring, considerate, honest, compassionate, reliable & have good communication skills.
Skills & Experience
- A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities.
- A professional and positive outlook about direct care work.
· Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).

Part-time hours: 4 per week

Salary: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
