About the role
The regional Specialist - Import Export provides subject matter expertise,
directs the import and export logistics activities to create efficiencies and increase productivity across the overall supply chain and manages the supply and delivery of both raw materials (Ammonium Nitrate, Bulk Emulsions) and finished goods (Sodium Cyanide, Flotation Chemicals, Emulsifiers, Industrial Chemicals, IS & PE, accessories, equipment and spare parts) to Orica’s customers to and from the relevant regions with a focus on logistics, international shipping, regulatory DG and safety standards.

Key AccountabilitiesEnsures all customers, agents and distributors have access to all relevant Orica SH&E; data procedures and policiesEnsures all vendors are trained in Orica SH&E; procedures adequate for their role Ensures that all import and export business meets all SH&E; related legislative regulations in each of the countries in which the business operatesComplies to relevant product stewardship plansOversees the completion of audits of relevant import and export operations (port, transport, 3PL,
Shipping Lines etc.)Manages the new customer introduction process for all export customers from regulatory and operational perspective Maintains a safe working environment for all staff Proactively complies with industry codes of practice providing input, guidance and exposure for the Orica “No accidents today†brandManages the customer service activities of the respective departments:Oversees and monitors the operational delivery of import and export orders with manufacturing sites, transport operators and the end customer to effectively transport Orica's products (across 2 departments)Draws both departments together to create an area of Import/Export expertise operating as one optimised groupStandardises and integrates processes and procedures across both departments Ensures that all customs clearance is completed accurately in time for successful delivery Balances export forecasts to meet consignment stock requirements Understands customer requirements and focus on delivering a premium customer service focus Reviews and provides input to the S&OP; process Ensures that both departments maintain effective and up to date work instructions for all customers, vendors, transport carriers, packers and custom agents Maintains current operational procedures including statutory and legal requirements to import and export DG goods providing guidance and direction for staffIdentifies and delivers cost improvements on Import/Export Function across the Orica supply chain network Leads ocean shipping (containerised and bulk) process and ensure cost effective, safe and timely delivery of product on time and in full Monitors and focuses on variable cost reduction including container management, rail scheduling, vessel scheduling and berthingMaximises value of freight contracts for 3PLs, rail and transport carriers, port authorities, stevedores Maintain and enhance relationship with relevant 3PLs, port authorities, stevedores, ship owners/charterers and customs agents Build strategic relationships with government departments (DNMR,DAFF, DFAT, Defence Export Control, WorkCover)Strategic relationships with the major container linesManage the symphony commercial tender in conjunction with Strategic Procurement on behalf of both logistics departments Oversee vendor invoicing and Orica agency and commission paymentsDrive results in strategic sea freight, transport and 3PL negotiations
What you will bring

* Minimum 7 years experience post qualification.
* Experience leading a team, including building a collaborative approach.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
* Strong strategic and commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgement.
* Ability to plan, influence & execute.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategic logic and recommended pathways, coupled with the ability to present to key stakeholders.
BAND F TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
* Minimum 3 to 6 years experience post qualification.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
* Strong strategic and commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgement.
* Ability to plan, influence & execute.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategic logic and recommended pathways, coupled with the ability to present to key stakeholders.
Role dependent - technical &/or functional business system applications required for tasks (e.g. SAP, SF, Concur, analytics/visualisation tools, engineering software, etc.)

Your qualifications
Insert tertiary qualification required for role (e.g. Accountant must have a tertiary degree in an Accounting discipline, an Engineer must have a tertiary degree in an Engineering discipline)
