About the role



An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, friendly and motivated person to join our Sterilising team in the Operating Theatre at St Johns campus of Calvary Health Care Tasmania.



The sterilising department is an integral part of a Theatre environment and the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and an ability to work both as a team member and independently. This role is to work within a multidisciplinary team which includes a variety of professional levels.



It is an ideal position for a pro-active and dynamic individual who works to a high Standard and wants to ensure their practice is meeting relevant Standards.



On the job training will be provided,





and some support for professional education may be available for the right candidate and can be discussed at interview. Previous expereince will be viewed favourably.



The St Johns campus is located in the foothills of Mount Wellington within easy walking distance of Hobart city. Free onsite or nearby car parking is readily available and staff can access salary sacrificing, as we are a not-for-profit organisation.



This position is permanent part time. Casual employment opportunities are also available.





What you bring



- Strong time management, organisational and leadership skills

- Sound communication and interpersonal skills

- Proven experience in customer relations and/or previous experience in a similar role

- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment and/or autonomously

- Sound literacy, numeracy skills and appropriate knowledge of medical terminology skills

- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable

Desirable: Previous experience in a sterilising department

Desirable: Certificate 3 or 4 in sterilising services
